On Tuesday night, one person died following a two-vehicle collision on South State Street.
As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place at around 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of South State Street and Beacon Lane in which a motorcycle and another vehicle were involved. The preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle swerved off the road due to the crash.
Officials shut down all the lanes of South State Street at the intersection with Wabash Avenue as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
