According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday evening.
The crash happened on Pioneer Trail near Golden Bear Trail at around 7 p.m.
According to the officials, a 2011 Honda CR-V was involved in the rollover crash, killing a passenger.
The driver of the car was traveling north on Pioneer Trail, and took a turn which caused the SUV to roll across the roadway into an embankment.
The driver of a 2011 Honda CR-V was identified as 26-year-old Diana Shemyakina and was rushed to the Barton Memorial Hospital suffering major injuries.
The SUV passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. An unidentified passenger in the car suffered major injuries.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
