One person was killed and two others received injuries following a wrong-way collision Friday northwest of Phoenix.
As per the initial information, the wreck involving multiple vehicles took place just after 2:30 a.m. on US 60 near Wittmann. The early reports showed that a Dodge Ram was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided with a semi-truck at milepost 131.
The driver of the Dodge Ram died of their injuries at the scene. A passenger in the Dodge Ram was thrown from the vehicle due to the impact, and was transported to a hospital with non-critical injuries. The driver of the semi-truck incurred only minor injuries.
Impairment is believed to be involved in the crash. The eastbound and westbound lanes were later reopened to traffic. No further details are available.
The wreck remains under review.
