The accident occurred on Wapato Road close to State Route 97, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A 42-year-old Zillah resident struck another vehicle in the intersection after running a red light.
The driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
WSP Troopers discovered a sizable amount of cocaine in one of the cars while they were looking into the collision.
The WSP reports that the accident is still being investigated, and it is unclear whether any charges would be brought.
