1 person in critical condition after an auto-pedestrian collision in Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge, LA)

On Thursday morning, one person suffered critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Baton Rouge.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place on Sherwood Forest Blvd. and Coursey Blvd. The preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle rear-ended a garbage truck in the 12000 block of Coursey Boulevard and left a garbage truck employee trapped to the truck.

The employee might have suffered broken legs and was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries. The eastbound lanes on Coursey Boulevard were shut down as crews worked at the scene. No additional information has been provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
