1 person in critical condition after a solo-vehicle crash in South Nashville (Nashville, TN)

On early Friday morning, one person suffered critical injuries after a vehicle hit a utility pole in South Nashville.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 4 a.m. on Murfreesboro Pike near the Elm Hill Pike intersection. The early reports showed that the vehicle was heading outbound when it went over all lanes of traffic and crashed into a utility pole.

On arrival, emergency crews transported the driver to an area hospital in critical condition. All lanes of traffic were shut down as crews worked at the scene. The roadway was back open at approximately 5:30 a.m., officials reported. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under investigation.
