A 38-year-old man, of Marne, was hospitalized in critical condition after he slammed his bike into an Ottawa County Road Commission truck on I-96.
As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place on Wednesday just before noon on eastbound I-96 between mile markers 24 and 25. The preliminary reports showed that the 38-year-old man was driving a 1996 Honda motorcycle on I-96 when he smashed his motorbike into a road commission truck that was stopped on the freeway to perform maintenance work along the left shoulder of the road.
On arrival, paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to Spectrum Butterworth with critical injuries. However, the driver of the road commission truck remained unharmed in the accident. The reports further revealed that the road commission truck was equipped with a crash attenuator and a yellow flashing arrow sign. It was also reported that multiple warning signs were posted near the road work area.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
