1 person hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision on I-5 (Vancouver, WA)

One person suffered injuries after a car slammed into a flatbed trailer and rolled on I-5.

The two-vehicle crash took place on I-5 South just north of the Mill Plain exit. According to the investigation reports, the trailer belonged to the Washington Department of Transportation and crews were using it to do work on the freeway. Officials reported that one person was trapped in the car that collided with the trailer.

On arrival, responders had to use the Jaws-of-life to cut the roof away to extricate the driver. It took a total of seven firefighters to rescue the driver. The driver was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries and is expected to recover. No other details are available.

The crash remains under investigation.
