The Memphis Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Memphis.
The crash happened between Whitten Road and Sycamore View on I-40 at around 3:44 a.m.
The Memphis Police Department confirmed that One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
One other person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The identity of the victims has not been released.
The crash is being investigated by the officials.
According to MPD, all westbound lanes would be closed for an unknown period of time.
By 8 a.m., the lanes had been reopened and the flow of traffic had resumed.
