According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Monday night in Phoenix.
The officials reported that a driver crashed into another vehicle near the Loop 101 interchange at around 11 p.m.
The investigation report stated that the car that was rear-ended had a flat tire before the crash.
DPS revealed that one person was declared dead at the scene.
No additional information on other casualties was reported.
The driver who rear-ended the other vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigations.
The identity of the deceased victim is awaited by the DPS.
The use of drugs or alcohol remains unknown at the moment.
