1 person dead after a vehicle hits a deer in Zeeland Township (Zeeland Township, MI)

On Tuesday, a 55-year-old Zeeland man lost his life after the vehicle he was driving struck a deer that went through the car’s windshield and went out of the back window.

As per the initial information, the fatal crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of 64th Avenue in Zeeland Township. The preliminary investigation showed that a 55-year-old Zeeland man was driving the vehicle southbound on 64th Avenue, south of Chicago Drive when he struck the deer.

The man was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. The reports further revealed that after hitting the deer, the vehicle left the east side of the road, where it ended up in a ditch. Alcohol, drugs and speed are not believed to be involved in the collision. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
