One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision near Santa Fe Springs.
As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place on the northbound Interstate 5 at about 4:05 PM. The early reports showed that a Sedan and a motorcycle crashed into each other for reasons that are yet to be known. One of the drivers suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.
Officers believe that it was not a hit-and-run crash. The three left lanes of the Interstate 5 south of East Florence Avenue were shut down as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No further information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
