1 person dead after a fiery accident on Loop 101 and Hayden Road (Scottsdale, AZ)

On Sunday night, one person was killed following a fiery accident on Loop 101 and Hayden Road in Scottsdale.

The early reports showed that a motorcycle rider was on the left side of the road with a vehicle or vehicles that were blocking the HOV lane when another vehicle crashed into them. The reports further stated that one of vehicles had caught on fire due to the impact.

Loop 101 (Pima) eastbound was shut down at Scottsdale Road but opened again to traffic at about 7:20 p.m. The northbound lanes were not impacted due to the wreck. The freeway will remain blocked at Hayden Road while crews work at the scene. No other details are available.

The crash remains under active review.
