One person died following a two-vehicle accident Friday in Mesa.
As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place at the intersection of Dobson Road and 1st Avenue. Crews actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, rushed the bicyclist to a local hospital, but they died of their injuries. The driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear at this time. The intersection was shut down for several hours Friday during the investigation. As of 2:45 p.m., roads were back open. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The accident remains under investigation.
