On late Thursday night, a man in his 30s lost his life after his pickup careened off a bridge on Loop 410 on the city’s Southeast Side.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at about 9 p.m. on Loop 410, close to South W.W. White Road. The early reports showed that the man in a pickup truck was heading northbound on Loop 410 when, for an unknown reason, he hit the left curb and guardrail and then plunged off a bridge over South W.W. White Road.
The reports further added that the truck landed between the eastbound and westbound lanes of the road and slid across the westbound lanes before slamming into a concrete support pillar. The man was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. Authorities will reveal the identity of the decedent after notifying the next of kin. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call. No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
