2 people hospitalized after a rollover accident in Southwest Austin (Austin, TX)

On Wednesday night, two people were hospitalized following a rollover accident in Southwest Austin.

As per the initial information, the incident took place at the intersection of Old Bee Caves Road and Thomas Springs Road at about 8:26 p.m. The preliminary reports showed that the crash involved two vehicles, one of which rolled over. The reports further said that there were three victims in the collision; one of them was pinned inside one of the vehicles. Two of the patients were declared trauma alerts. On arrival, emergency crews freed the person who was pinned inside a vehicle.

One adult patient was transported by EMS to South Austin Medical Center with potentially serious injuries. The Adult patient who was trapped inside a vehicle was airlifted to South Austin Medical Center via a STAR Flight unit with critical, life-threatening injuries. EMS provided medical aid to the third patient who incurred minor injuries and refused to be hospitalized. Delays are expected in the area due to the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
