A tragedy struck Albuquerque as part of Central Avenue was closed following a fatal pedestrian accident. Police responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian at Central Avenue and Garcia Street around 4:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered one person fatally injured on the road. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene. At this time, authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim.
Central Avenue has been shut down between Altez Street and Parsifal Street, with alternative routes such as Chico Road or Southern Boulevard available for commuters. The closure is expected to impact traffic in the area, prompting drivers to seek alternate routes to their destinations.
