The Albuquerque Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident near Indian School and Morris on December 28. The accident occurred around 12.30 p.m.
According to the officials, a homeowner was severely injured when a vehicle crashed into his home. A 52-year-old driving a white Ford Expedition crashed through the garage door of a home on Mahlon Ave. The vehicle crashed into a parked car in the homeowners’ garage, and the former was pushed halfway into the residence.
The homeowner was trapped inside the home, underneath the vehicle, in between two walls. With some effort, he was removed from the scene and transported to UNMH, where he was later pronounced dead.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. Officials say he admitted to smoking meth and marijuana before driving. There are no other details available at this time.
