A motorcyclist lost his life Friday night in a collision on Tucson’s west side, according to Tucson police. Joseph Henry Gill III, 51, was travelling west on West Ajo Way around 7 p.m.
At that time, his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck making a left turn at South La Cholla Boulevard, authorities stated Saturday. Gill tragically died at the fatal crash site. The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet pickup, a 71-year-old man whose identity remains undisclosed, was traveling east on Ajo when the collision occurred during his left turn onto La Cholla.
He was cited for causing a death or serious injury during a moving violation, as per the police release. The investigation into the motorcycle accident is ongoing.
