A fatal crash on Highway 2 near Spotted Road in Spokane is under investigation by the Spokane Police Department following an incident early Wednesday morning. The tragic event occurred around 12:30 a.m.
A pedestrian was struck by two vehicles while walking on the road. Shockingly, both vehicles fled the scene, leading to the subsequent arrests of both drivers. Authorities have charged one female driver with vehicular homicide, while the male driver faces a felony hit-and-run charge.
Suspicions of drug and alcohol involvement have emerged as potential factors in the crash.
Due to the severity of the situation, Highway 2 was temporarily closed between Spotted Rd. and Flint Rd. for investigative purposes, although it has since been reopened.
