Officials identified 59-year-old Kenneth Lee Barker who died after a crash; juvenile detained for DUI (Las Vegas, NV)

Authorities identified 59-year-old Kenneth Lee Barker as the man who lost his life following a motorcycle crash in southwest Las Vegas Sunday evening while a juvenile was taken into custody for DUI.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcycle victim as 59-year-old Kenneth Lee Barker. The cause of death still remains under investigation. The reports showed that the fatal motorcycle accident was reported at 8:11 p.m. at W. Patrick Lane and Tenaya Way.

The investigation reports also revealed that Barker was turning left on his motorcycle from Tenaya to Patrick. Witnesses informed that police a juvenile driving a Honda Accord was speeding eastbound on Patrick and veered into the oncoming lanes to pass another vehicle that had stopped to take a left turn from Patrick to Tenaya and hit the motorcyclist.

On arrival, first responders rushed Barker to University Medical Center where he was declared deceased. Police confirmed that the juvenile driver of the Honda displayed signs of impairment and was arrested and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

An investigation continues.
