Officials identified 24-year-old Matt Matthews who died after a motorcycle crash in Longview (Longview, TX)

Authorities identified 24-year-old Matt Matthews as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident Thursday in Longview.

The fatal motorcycle collision took place at the intersection of US 80 and Pine Tree Road. The preliminary reports showed that a pickup truck and a motorcycle were involved in the wreck. The motorcycle rider, identified as Matt Matthews, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the pickup remained unharmed in the accident. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be involved in the crash. No further details have been made available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
