Authorities identified 20-year-old Joel Peter as the man who was killed after a single-vehicle accident Wednesday night on the North Side.
The fatal motorcycle crash happened at around 10:40 p.m. in the 13700 block of Jones Maltsberger Road. Then preliminary reports showed that Peter was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the bike and crashed.
He was thrown from the motorbike during the crash. Joel Peter succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. It is unknown if impairment played a part in the crash. No further details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
