Off-Duty Officer Critically Injured In A Motorcycle Accident In Cross Plains (Cross Plains, TN)

The Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson reported that an off-duty officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via helicopter. 

The officer reportedly is in critical condition. 

At around 7:10 p.m. the officer was traveling near Bethlehem Road when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree. 

The identity of the officer was not revealed but the officials stated that the deputy is a corrections officer for the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield. 

The cause of the motorcycle accident is being investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. 

The officials revealed no additional information regarding the crash.
