A devastating car fatal crash on State Route 17 near Othello claimed the lives of three individuals, according to the Washington State Patrol. Manuela Franco Huerta was driving her Corolla southbound on Route 17 with two passengers when she lost control of her vehicle, veering into the opposing lane.
The car collided with an oncoming semi-truck. Tragically, one of Huerta’s passengers, Brini Moranflores, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second passenger, a 14-year-old boy, succumbed to his injuries at Othello Community Hospital, where Huerta also tragically passed away due to her injuries.
The truck driver emerged unharmed from the collision. The multi-vehicle accident is still being investigated by the authorities.
