Man injured after a motorcycle crash on 212th St SW (Lynnwood, WA)

On Thursday night, a Lynnwood man in his early 20s suffered serious injuries after being hit by a small passenger car on 212th St SW.

As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place in front of the Mountlake Terrace Safeway store at about 9:15 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the car came out of the parking lot of the Safeway store, located in the 4200 block of 212th Street Southwest, and failed to see the motorcycle traveling westbound on 212th Street.

Just then, the motorcycle hit the passenger car, driven by a Bothell woman in her late teens, causing a T-bone crash. On arrival, medics rushed the motorcyclist to a trauma center with serious injuries. There were no reported injuries to the woman driving the car. The driver did not show any signs of impairment.

Officers confirmed a citation to the driver of the car for failure to yield. 212th Street Southwest was shut down as crews worked at the scene, but the roads were back open after midnight. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
