According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, James Otis Collins was the victim of a hit-and-run crash that took place in Macon on Thursday.
Approximately at 1:39 a.m., a vehicle that was traveling on Irwinton Road, Hitchcock Road, struck James Otis Collins and escaped the scene. Collins was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the authorities. The identity of the vehicle that struck Collins has not been found yet.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
