The Killeen Police Department reported a motorcycle accident on Sunday. The accident occurred in the 1900 block of East Elms Road just after 2:31 a.m.
According to the officials, two motorcyclists were travelling west when one of them dropped something on the road. Both motorcyclists stopped to get the item when one of them was struck by a passing vehicle.
The motorcyclist who was struck by the car was critically injured. Paramedics attempted to revive the man but they were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified him as Eric Rucker.
The fatal crash is still being investigated. The officials have said that the vehicle involved was a smaller grey sedan. There are no other details available at this time.
