A woman received life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle accident on the far West Side overnight.
As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place at about 12:44 a.m., Sunday, in the 10300 block of Potranco Road at Clover Creek. The preliminary reports showed that the woman was traveling northbound on Clover, when she went through a red light and took a U-turn in the middle of the intersection. Just then, a man who was driving eastbound in a gray Mazda on Potranco in the left lane hit the woman’s motorcycle at the intersection.
The reports further revealed that the driver of the Mazda swerved right, but was unable to avoid the collision. On arrival, first responders rushed the woman to University Hospital via EMS with life-threatening injuries. On the other hand, the driver of the Mazda remained at the scene and seemed to be intoxicated. He was evaluated and detained for driving while intoxicated. No other details are available.
