A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a woman in Tacoma (Tacoma, WA)

On Wednesday night, a woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Tacoma.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place on East D Street. The preliminary investigation showed that the woman injured in the accident was part of a group protesting a camping ban outside the LeMay car museum. On arrival, paramedics rushed the woman to the hospital in serious condition. Other protesters at the scene said that they believe the accident might have been intentional.

Stacey Soltoff, an eyewitness of the collision, said that they did not know if it was intentional on the driver’s part, but there is no suspicion in their mind it was intentional to strike them and then drove off. There were no skid marks, there were no brake lights. They were not veering before or after they drove up onto the sidewalk and struck the woman. Officers are searching for the driver of a blue truck that left the scene after hitting the victim. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
