71-Year-Old Ronald Doughty Hospitalized In A Motorcycle Accident In Yakima (Yakima, WA)

A motorcycle accident occurred on Interstate 82, according to the Washington State Patrol. 

The officials stated that a motorcyclist was injured and hospitalized after he tried to avoid an inflatable raft that went flying off of a pickup. 

A Toyota Tacoma travelling west on I-82 two miles outside Yakima was followed by a motorcyclist. The raft of the Tacoma went flying on the roadway. The motorcycle swerved to avoid it and went off the road.

According to the troopers, 71-year-old Ronald Doughty of Yakima was transported to Yakima Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. 

The WSP officials stated that the rider was following the safety protocols and was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. 

Officials are investigating the driver of the pickup and charges are pending. 

No additional information regarding the condition of the rider is available.
