The California Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle accident in Templeton on Thursday. The accident occurred on Highway 41, near Creston at around 12:15 p.m.
According to the officials, a Yamaha MT10 was headed south, just north of mile marker 34.00 at an unknown speed. When the motorcycle reached a right turn, the vehicle drove off the side of the road. This caused it to lose control and collide with a barbed wire fence.
The driver was thrown off the bike due to the crash and incurred fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim to be 71-year-old Joseph Haga.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. The officials have confirmed that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
