The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash in Longview on Monday afternoon. The collision happened on Ocean Beach highway at around 3:18 p.m.
David L Florek, 35, of Kelso, driving a blue Ford F150 truck, collided with a sedan driven by Chase T Heagy, 20 traveling in the opposite direction close to milepost 53. Chase was driving west on Ocean Beach Highway with Terry L Heagy, 70, of Cathlamet as his passenger. The truck is said to have crossed the center dividing line.
Both the driver and the passenger were restrained by seat belts and taken to St. John’s Medical Center. Police confirmed Terry Heagy passed away in the hospital.
The fatal collision is still being investigated by WSP, and officials say there’s a chance that drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
