66-Year-Old William Charles Carter Killed In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

A tragic motor vehicle accident occurred early Tuesday on Tucson’s south side, resulting in the death of a 66-year-old man. William Charles Carter crashed into a traffic sign at the corner of South Sixth Avenue and West Ajo Way around 3:00 a.m., Tucson police reported.

Carter, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene, with no other vehicles involved in the crash. Investigators determined that Carter lost control while heading west on Ajo Way, leading to the collision with the sign.

Drugs were found in the driver’s system prior to the crash, but it remains unclear whether this or a medical condition contributed to the incident, according to the police release. The investigation into the fatal crash continues.
