Authorities state that a San Antonio man was killed on Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle accident. Canyon Lake Fire, EMS, troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Comal County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the accident scene west of New Braunfels around 2:18 PM on Sunday.
Authorities believe that the man, identified as Scott Payne, 62 lost control of his motorcycle on Purgatory Road.
Payne was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other injuries reported in the fatal accident, which is being investigated by the Texas DPS.
DPS officials were unable to address a possible cause or if other vehicles were involved, weather conditions at the time of the crash, if an autopsy was ordered and whether the victim wore a helmet.
