Authorities identified 61-year-old Romero Maldonado as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident in San Antonio.
The investigation reports showed that a San Antonio man has been accused of manslaughter, driving through a stop sign and causing a collision that claimed the life of a motorcyclist last week. Daniel Joshua Campa, 24, was taken into custody Tuesday.
The reports further revealed that Campa was driving eastbound on North Park Road on Oct. 22 when he ran the stop sign at the North Loop Road intersection and struck a motorcycle, driven by 61-year-old Romero Maldonado. The reports also added that Campa was driving at least twice the speed limit and made no effort to stop or slow down as he arrived at the intersection.
It was later determined that Campa was fleeing from a separate minor crash that happened nearby. Maldonado was ejected from his motorcycle and thrown more than 90 feet. He was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. Campa is being held on a $100,000 bond.
An investigation continues.
