A tragedy struck Eastland County as a Minnesota man lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon. The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the victim as Mark Allen Jewett, 61, of Waseca, Minnesota.
The incident occurred around 4:58 p.m. when Terry Lee Rose, 49, of Eastland, driving a pickup truck south on Farm-to-Market 2214 and County Road 237, failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left onto CR 237, colliding with Jewett’s motorcycle traveling north on FM 2214.
Jewett was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace John Glenn. Rose emerged uninjured from the collision. Investigations into the fatal crash are ongoing as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
