On Wednesday night, 61-year-old Eugene John Flannigan lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 8 near Willows Road.
The CHP and Medical Examiner’s Office stated that 61-year-old Eugene John Flannigan was traveling on his 2009 Kawasaki Concourse. As he headed west on Interstate 8 near Willows Road, he crashed. Just before 6:00 p.m., another driver reported that a rider lost control of his bike and went off the freeway. The CHP officers, firefighters, and a sheriff’s helicopter crew could not find the wreckage on Wednesday night.
The next day, at around 5:10 p.m., the sheriff’s deputies informed to the CHP that they found a fatal motorcycle crash scene. The incident was located between I-8 and Willows Road, just a little west of Viejas Casino & Resort. The authorities discovered Eugene John Flannigan dead at the scene due to multiple blunt force injuries.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
