59-year-old Ronnie Lovato died and a 17-year-old female injured in a motorcycle crash (Gainesville, TX)

Authorities identified 59-year-old Ronnie Lovato, of Gainesville, as the man who lost his life while a 17-year-old female was injured following a single-vehicle crash last weekend.

As per the initial information, officers were sent to the Interstate 35 in the 2300 block early Saturday evening on reports of a motorcycle lying on the west service road. The preliminary reports showed that Ronnie Lovato, 59, of Gainesville, and an unknown 17-year-old female passenger were riding a white 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle when the fatal accident happened.

The reports further suggested that Lovato was southbound on the service road when he hit a wild animal, possibly a deer which caused him to lose control of the motorbike. Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle due to the impact.

Lovato died from his injuries at the scene while the female passenger was taken to North Texas Medical Center and later flown to a Denton hospital. No information is available regarding the condition of the female passenger.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
