Authorities identified 59-year-old James Davis, of North Dakota, lost his life following a single-vehicle accident in DeSoto Parish.
The investigation reports showed that Davis was heading south on Linwood Avenue near Rowe Road while driving a 2002 Phan motorcycle. For unknown reasons, the bike drove off the road and rolled over, throwing Davis from his motorbike in the process.
On arrival, first responders rushed Davis to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport where he was declared deceased. At this time, it is unknown if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Impairment is believed to be involved in the crash and toxicology samples have been sent for analysis.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
