Authorities identified 59-year-old Gregory William Trippe as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on May 26 in North Austin.

Officers actively responded to the 8500 block of N. Mopac Expressway southbound a little after 1:30 p.m. in response to a motorcycle crash. According to the investigation reports, the motorcyclist, identified as 59-year-old Gregory William Trippe, possibly failed to maintain control as a result of which his motorcycle fell.

A vehicle tried to drift out of the way to avoid a collision, but ended up hitting Trippe. The motorcycle rider suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under review.
