Authorities identified 58-year-old John Thomas Hays, from Sparks, as the man who lost his life following a crash on May 15 in Lyon County.
The fatal motorcycle accident was reported at about 4 p.m. on Geiger Grade in Lyon County. The investigation reported showed that a black 1998 Yamaha motorcycle ridden by Hays was heading south on Geiger Grade approaching Lyon County mile marker 5.
For undetermined reasons, the driver lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the right side guardrail. The driver, identified as John Thomas Hays, was thrown from the motorcycle due to the impact. He died of his injuries at the scene. No further information is available.
An investigation is continuing.
