A tragic incident unfolded in Phoenix on Monday morning as a man lost his life in a car collision, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The victim, identified as Thomas Wilcox, 51, was driving westbound on Southern Avenue when the crash occurred, which did not involve any other vehicles.
The collision took place near Southern and 29th Avenues around 7:50 a.m., resulting in Wilcox’s vehicle colliding with a pole. Emergency responders rushed Wilcox to a nearby hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
Phoenix police indicated that the cause of the collision remains unknown as investigations into the incident continue. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
