According to the Edinburg Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Edinburg. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motorcycle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the 1000 block of East University Drive. A motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle.
The motorcyclist was identified as 49-year-old Pete Centeno. Centeno was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Further insights into the collision are yet to be released. The cause of the accident is pending determination. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The crash continues to be investigated by the EPD.
