Phoenix police responded to find 46-year-old Jimmy Anthony Aviles seriously injured.
Despite efforts to save him, Aviles succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
The second driver involved in the crash was also hospitalised but with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities revealed that Aviles was driving westbound when he lost control of his vehicle, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with the second car.
