The New Mexico State Police reported a motorcycle accident on N.M. 104 on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Highway 104, near Trementina in San Miguel County.
According to the officials, a Harley Davidson was headed east on the state road and was driving behind a Dodge pickup. The motorcycle tried to pass the truck when it slowed down to take a left turn. However, it got sideswiped and crashed.
The driver of the motorcycle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified as 46-year-old Damon Herbert of Amarillo.
The fatal crash is still being investigated. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
