46-year-old Cody Sylvest died after a motorcycle collision in Abilene (Abilene, TX)

Authorities identified 46-year-old Cody Sylvest as the victim who was killed after a two-vehicle crash in Abilene.

The fatal motorcycle collision took place at around 12:25 a.m. in the 1100 block of Arnold Boulevard. The preliminary reports showed that a motorcycle driven by Cody Sylvest was northbound in the 1100 block of Arnold Boulevard when the bike collided with a southbound pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer.

The reports further revealed that the truck had slowed and was moving onto the right shoulder when the motorcycle moved into the truck’s lane “at a high rate of speed” and plowed into the front left fender and door. A justice of the peace declared Sylvest dead at the scene. No other information is available.

An investigation is ongoing.
