The California Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle accident in Oakland on Saturday. The accident occurred in the 1600 block of 90th Avenue just before 3 p.m.
According to the officials, a man was driving north on 90th Avenue at a high speed when he crossed over a double yellow line while failing to stop at a posted stop sign at Plymouth Street. This caused him to crash into a Mercedes SUV that was making an illegal U-turn.
The driver of the first vehicle was thrown out of his car and incurred fatal injuries. He was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He has since been identified as 44-year-old Terrance Evans.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. There are no other details available.
