CHP Authorities reported a fatal crash that unfolded near Lucerne on Tuesday evening, resulting in the loss of a man’s life. The victim, identified as 43-year-old James Andrew Eble II was riding his motorcycle when it collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office stated that the incident took place at around 7:06 p.m. on SR 20, which is east of Rosemont Drive.
The vehicles involved were a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Eble and a 2020 Dodge 5500 truck driven by 33-year-old Spencer Langenback, with 26-year-old John Tirri as his passenger.
Preliminary findings by the California Highway Patrol, suggest that Eble, traveling westbound, crossed the solid double yellow lines into the eastbound lane, resulting in the tragic head-on collision.
Despite emergency responders’ efforts, Eble was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation into this motorcycle accident is ongoing.
