According to the Donna Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday morning. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motorcycle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Business Highway 83, west of Val Verde Road. A truck collided with a motorcycle when it tried to make a turn and failed to give way to the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was identified as 41-year-old Ricardo Torres. Torres was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The truck driver was identified as 33-year-old Freddy Lerma.
The cause of the collision was suspected to be the influence of alcohol. Other insights pertaining to the accident are pending determination. The crash continues to be investigated by the DPD.
